Description
Position Summary:
The Support Worker ensures the smooth overnight operation of the Stay the Night Shelter, supporting women experiencing homelessness in a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Register new/returning clients, assign beds and lockers.

Enforce shelter rules, curfew, and safety protocols.

Maintain cleanliness of sleeping hall, dining, washrooms, and kitchen.

Serve meals, manage food storage, and report shortages.

Monitor sleeping areas and assist in emergencies.

Document incidents, attendance, and inventory.

Respond to client queries in-person and over the phone.
Qualifications:
Experience in shelters or community services preferred.

Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Ability to work independently overnight.
-
Must pass Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
-
First Aid/CPR or crisis training is an asset.
